Authors: Jebilson Raja Joslin and Laeek Siddiqui
The UN80 initiative launched by the Secretary-General (SG) in March 2025 seeks to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and responsiveness of the UN. Organized into seven clusters, the human rights cluster seeks to improve the work of the UN human rights system. Following an update to Member States on 24 June, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights organised an online consultation for civil society on 3 July 2025 – a first in the UN80 process. This ICH Bulletin #66 provides an unattributed summary of the consultations alongside some background on the UN80 process.
